According to a document written by Mrs. Leguin (located in the S.M. Friendship Club file in the archives), The Sierra Madre Community Friendship Club was organized on Oct. 1, 1947 under the guidance of Mrs. Frederick Oliver and Mrs. Cardiff of the Pasadena Friendship Club. Mrs. Alice Sedgeman began the club in Sierra Madre and became its organizer and program chairman.
